Education’s focus grew FROM nurturing a merit/excellence of our young people’s mindsets with a drive towards independence and behavior that focuses on that personal freedom to nurture equality/emotion focused on inclusion and empathy. These qualities are driven by group think and behavior from educators nurtured in those same principles that harbor dependence on a defined group or in turn government interaction.
That redefinition of priorities could not be determined 50 years ago. Now the impact on the individual — after the fact and until now — has manifested in a new focus on what “your country can do for you rather than on what you can do for your country” (with apologies to John F. Kennedy). It can be experienced through striving and obtaining increased awareness of both physical and non-physical attributes within each of us.
That greater or lesser ability in a person can be observed within their actions and words.
